Abstract

The act of teaching in asynchronously online courses is carried out by course leaders and supervisors, who replace the single teacher found in face-to-face courses. These people work remotely from each other and communicate mainly through email messages. This literature review aims to problematize and intellectualize this email communication. It outlines the disadvantages, as well as practices for circumventing these. The guidelines presented for email use are designed to make messages easier to understand, save time and encourage cooperation among correspondents.
